Jim Corbett National Park Is the oldest National Park in India . Jim Corbett National Park is established in 1936 , as Hailey National Park to protect the endangered species of Bengal Tiger. After the india’s independence the park was named as Ramganga National Park but after in 1956 it was named after jim Corbett-the famous hunter who played a major role in establishment of the park
It is located in the district of Nainital, jim Corbett National Park is a perfect place for nature lovers. It contains 488 different species of plants and a diverse variety of fauna. The whole extent of the park is divided into four different zones called Bijrani, Dhikala, Jhirna and Durgadevi zones spread over an area of 520 square kilometres.

Corbett National Park is the best place to enjoy the wildlife and scenic beauty. The park is commonly highlighted due to its rich flora.  There are around 488 species of shrubs, trees, herbs, bamboos, climbers, grasses, and ferns in the Park. Adina Cordifolia, Pipal, Rohini and Mango trees are abundantly found.

Some of the main species of flora that add beauty and attraction to the park include:

Kanju (Holoptelea integrifolia)

Ber (Ziziphus mauritiana)

Dhak (Butea monosperma)

Bel (Aegle marmelos)

Kachnaar (pink flower)

Indian coral (scarlet red flower)

Amaltas (bright yellow flower)

Further, Kanju (Holoptelea integrifolia), Amla (Emblica officinalis) and  Jamun (Syzygium cumini) are commonly spread throughout the lower areas, where on the other side Tendu (Diospyros tomentosa) are found in moist areas


The Corbett National Park is one of the popular attractions of the India where a large number of animals are found like Leopards, Bengal Tigers, Elephants, Sambars, Spotted Deer, Nilgai, Hog Deer, Sloth Bear, Wild Boar, Barking Deer, Langur, Ghural, Rhesus Monkey, Himalayan Black Bear, Sloth Bear, Yellow Throated Marten, Dhole Jackal, Indian Grey Mongoose, Himalayan Palm Civet, Porcupine, Common Otter, Clack Taped Hare, Chital, Para, Kakka, and smaller felines such as Fishing Cat, Jungle Cat, etc.
There are more than 586 species of migratory birds that include Jungle Fowl, Peacock, Partridge, Crow, Vulture, Khaleej Peasant, Laughingthrush, Parakeet, Kingfisher, Oriole, Dove, Teal, Woodpecker, Drongo, Stork, Cormorant Ancestor, Seagull, Domestic Fowl And Blossom-Headed Parakeet, etc. Including this, other species of Reptiles, Amphibians, Fish and Dragonflies are also observed.


Corbett By Air : The closest domestic airport is Pantnagar Airport, which is 80 km away. New Delhi is the nearest International airport which is 260 km away. 

Corbett By Rail : Ramnagar (15 km), which is the nearest railway station, is well connected to all major Indian cities. 

Corbett By Road : Corbett is only 15 Kms from Ramnagar town. The surface drive from Delhi to Corbett takes approximate five and half hours. The designated approach routes are: Delhi-Gajrola-Moradabad-Kashipur-Ramnagar: (240 km). Corbett is well linked with the major cities of Uttarakhand like Nainital, Ramnagar, Haridwar, Dehradun amd Ranikheet.

Corbett By Bus : Being a popular tourist destination, Corbett is well-linked with a network of bus services, which includes private tour operators as well as state transport corporations. The nearest bus stand for the park is Dhumakot which is 34 km away from Corbett.
